Alpha secures turbine blades upgrades for Vestas in Australia

We have been awarded a contract for an aerodynamics campaign with Vestas in Australia at the Collgar wind farm.

Situated in Merredin, 260km east of Perth in Western Australia, Collgar has 111 turbines which will all be part of the turbine blades upgrades. Work is already underway at the wind farm and is expected to take around five months to complete. Two teams of two local rope access technicians are carrying out the work onsite, supported by our team in Europe.

Working with Vestas on this project cements the longstanding relationship we have with them globally and we are thrilled to be working with them again in Australia.

With the Vestas V90 turbines the Collgar wind farm has a total power production capacity of 222 megawatts and generates enough power each year for between 125,000 and 150,000 homes.
